MOTHER FLOSSIE MAE UPSON |
Who exactly is Mother Flossie Mae Upson?
Mother Flossie says she is 115 years old. She was born in the back woods of Kentucky, where picking blackberries and dodging rattlesnakes was the way of life. Flossie is well known back in the hills for her independent nature and for being opinionated, stubborn, talented, smart and outspoken.
Flossie’s age and life experiences give her the boldness to tell everyone exactly how she feels about what she see is going on around her in this world today. Mother Flossie says she has lived long enough to know how it was; now she is telling it like it is. Although you may laugh at her simple straightforward words of wisdom and how she perceives things through her wired rimmed glasses (and they are not rose colored). And it does not matter what other’s think or how she embarrasses her family.
Mother Flossie’s humor allows her to step through the door to all generations and gender. Whether the venue is a church, conference hall, nursing home, prison, school, or theatre stage; Mother Flossie is ready to bring inspiration and good old fashion humor to all.
Mother Flossie tries hard to understand the ways of the big city. When her social security ran out because she had lived too long, she had to move in with her daughter. The journey has been an interesting one, not to mention hilarious. If you have not met Mother Flossie, it is time you do.
Oh and before you laugh at Flossie’s family for having her on their family tree, you had better check your branches.
Mother Flossie’s life has been captured in a work of fiction entitled “I Ain’t Changing My Clothes.” Feliciity Crowdus while attending a Family Reunion finds out that she has a whole clan of cousins she has never met. Truthfully, she never knew they existed.
The Matriarch of this clan is none other than Flossie Mae Buckner Crowdus Upson and she ain’t changing her mind about nothing unless she is sure the good Lord told her to do so. Enjoy a front row seat to Flossie’s family dinners, the preview of her visit to the Underground Railroad and the celebration of Mother’s day. Not to mention her teaching Sunday school class in the middle of a manger scene in the mall.
The book is intended to be fun and will make you laugh. However, hidden in the words of wisdom and wise cracks from Cousin Flossie and the down to earth approach to the situation at hand by Feliciity. You will come away knowing exactly what “Agape Love” is all about.
Mother Flossie says she is aware of the condition of our world today and all of the depressing circumstances that we must face. So, there is a need for laughter it is like good medicine.
